Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate
This is a twist on standard hot chocolate. The cooking time is a bit long, but the preparation takes only a few minutes. All you need is cocoa powder, water, chocolate syrup, vanilla and peanut butter. Cover and cook a mixture of cocoa powder, water and chocolate syrup for awhile, until you get a semi-thick consistency. Once it’s where you want it, whisk peanut butter and vanilla inside the hot chocolate. And voila, you have a delicious peanut butter hot chocolate ready.
Chai Tea
This is a favorite in many households, especially in South Asia. Also, it’s easier to prepare than you think. The ingredients are milk, cinnamon sticks, crushed spices, ginger and tea bags. Mix all the ingredients (except for the tea bags) and bring them to a boil. Once it’s boiling, remove from the flame, add tea bags, and let them sit for ten minutes. Drink while it’s still hot. Nothing gets you as energized as a cup of strong tea on a cold winter’s day.
Warm Apple Cider
Apple cider is a great drink to have during winter. However, adding spices, crushed ginger and orange zest to it, and then bringing them all to a boil, takes it to a whole new level. It’s one of those rare drinks that tastes as good as it smells. Serve it in small cups with cinnamon sticks.
