How to Clean Microfiber

Written by

Microfiber is a material used to make furniture like couches. The material is durable, soft and comfy. It looks very beautiful but it can be a hard nut to crack when it gets dirty and need cleaning. It is very important to know how to go about it since without proper cleaning stain marks can be left on the furniture. Below are some of the ways on how to clean a microfiber.

1. To effectively clean the microfiber you need several items that is a spray bottle, a white sponge and a scrub brush. Fill the spray bottle with alcohol which will be used in the cleaning

2. Spray the area with stains. It is advisable to concentrate on a small section first so that you can effectively clean it well.

3. Use a soft sponge preferably white in color to rub the sprayed section. This is done since the use of colored or multicolor sponges will transfer color stains to the furniture.

4. Leave it to dry completely for some time. This won’t take long since alcohol drys faster.

5. Use a scrub brush and softly brush the area that was cleaned. This is done to flatten the hard areas and retain the original texture of the microfiber.

Check the instructions for cleaning which is normally tagged behind the microfiber. If it is safe to wash and dry you can remove the cushion and place them in a washer on very gentle cycle using a mild detergent. It is also wise to never use any kind of bleaching agents since it can discolor the material. Once a water stain has appeared on the material it is best to blow dry it fast since if left for sometimes the microfiber will develop patches which will be unpleasant sight. Never use any kind of nail polish remover as an agent of removing stains since it will badly damage the material.
