Vinegar + Water for Mopping
The kitchen floor is a sticky mess, and you're out of your favorite floor cleaner! Quick, easy, cheap solution that can not only work in a pinch, but can replace your cleaner:
- Fill your mop bucket with warm water.
- Add ½ cup of vinegar and gently mix.
- Mop as usual.
Nothing special, but it not only cleans, cutting through dirt on the floor, it also disinfects, and the smell evaporates quickly, leaving nothing but fresh air.
Baking Soda + Vinegar for Hard Water Stains
Time to scrub the bathtub, but your scrubber is not making any headway on the bright orange stains left behind by the minerals in your hard water. Don't go rushing out for expensive hard-water stain treatment; grab the baking soda and vinegar instead:
- In a bowl, mix together the baking soda and vinegar until it becomes a bit like a paste.
- Apply the paste to the hard water stains.
- After 10 minutes, wipe clean.
The effect is fantastic—no scrubbing necessary.
Lemons + Water for a Clean Microwave
You open the microwave and the interior walls are covered in—what is that? It's most likely grease or popping food from heating leftovers, soups, or sauces, and it can be a pain to clean because it's so hard to scrub in such a confined area. No more scrubbing!
- Cut a lemon or two into wedges and put them in a microwave-safe bowl (glass is recommended).
- Place the bowl in the microwave and heat for at least 5 minutes, but you can go up to 10.
- Carefully remove the glass bowl and wipe down the inside of the microwave.
The lemon-infused steam cuts through the grease and leaves a great smell in your kitchen, too!
